Elapsed result
UTC instant = local date-time minus typed UTC offset. Difference = end UTC instant - start UTC instant, reported as days, hours, minutes and decimal hours.
Use fixed UTC offsets for audits; confirm daylight saving before sending an operational schedule.
Method
Each local date-time is converted to a UTC instant by subtracting the typed UTC offset. The result is end UTC minus start UTC, expressed in exact minutes, decimal hours and day-hour-minute form.
UTC instant = local date-time - UTC offset. Elapsed minutes = (end UTC - start UTC) / 60,000.
Offsets are fixed user inputs. The page does not infer daylight saving or political timezone changes.
