Assumptions

Moon phase is generated with Astronomy Engine MoonPhase at local noon. The phase age is an equivalent display value derived from the engine elongation.

Limits

The mood layer is a playful planning prompt. It is not astronomy authority, astrology, psychology, mental-health advice, weather guidance, tide data or a factual claim about a day.

Method

The page calculates the moon phase first, then attaches a labelled prompt layer

The tool samples Astronomy Engine's lunar elongation at local noon for each date, maps that angle into eight familiar phase bands, derives the illuminated fraction, and only then maps each phase to a selected planning, creative or reflection prompt.

Lunar basis

The phase label and illumination come from Astronomy Engine MoonPhase at local noon. Exact phase instants can fall earlier or later in the day.

Print path

The print button opens browser print. The print stylesheet keeps the calendar, prompt list, assumptions, limits and source notes while hiding input controls.

Truth boundary

The mood copy is entertainment and planning language. It is not astrology, psychology, wellbeing advice, weather guidance or a prediction.
