Notes

Use this report for production schedules, research logs, journal indexes, school worksheets and annual planning notes.

Assumptions

Gregorian calendar, local browser date rules, local noon arithmetic, year range 100-9999, ordinal days counted from January 1 as day 1.

Method

Day numbers are counted from local Gregorian noon dates

The selected date and January 1 are both created at local noon, then the whole-day difference is counted and one is added. Reverse lookup starts at January 1 of the chosen year and adds the ordinal day offset.

Leap years

Gregorian leap years have 366 days, so March 1 is day 61 instead of day 60. The reverse lookup limit updates with the chosen year.

Print path

The print button opens browser print and the print stylesheet keeps the conversion results, ordinal strip, notes and assumptions.

Limits

This page does not calculate holidays, fiscal year day numbers, astronomy or regional work rules. It only counts civil Gregorian calendar days.

Standards and platform basis

The page uses browser JavaScript Date objects for proleptic Gregorian date arithmetic. ISO-style numeric date labels are used for unambiguous display, but this page is an ordinal civil calendar, not an ISO week-date page.
